Keep working with the text “The Hero’s Journey.” First, on your recording form, add any more important details about the introduction or the section “Act 1: Separation.” Then do a “first draft” read of the remainder of “The Hero’s Journey.” Make some gist notes in the margins; it’s fine if you don’t understand everything at first. (You don’t have to fill out the recording form for Acts 2 or 3 yet.) As you read, begin to consider how these stages of the hero’s journey apply to Percy Jackson/Maniac Magee.
